Buttocks Shaping
Gluteoplasty
The buttocks shaping procedure improves the appearance of the buttocks by modifying various elements and creating a more youthful and pleasing look in this critical body area. Feeling like you have a "great butt" can improve self-esteem and confidence and improve overall aesthetic appeal of the body. Shaping of the buttocks can include augmentation with implants or fat injection, liposuction, and surgical lifting or contouring.
Procedure
This surgery can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure. All surgery is done at Dr. Payne’s MediCare and California State Certified Pueblo Nuevo Surgery Center located within his office.
Some clients need volume added to their buttocks to provide proper size and improve shape. This can be achieved using special implants inserted through an incision in the upper buttocks cleft. A more popular method involves injecting fat into the buttocks, known as a Brazilian butt lift. Fat is liposuctioned from other body areas (hips, abdomen, and legs make excellent donor sites) and then processed and injected into the buttocks. This helps to shape and lift the buttocks and the results are permanent once all healing has taken place. The incisions used to inject fat are tiny and leave minimal long-term scars. The result is a more shapely and sculpted buttocks area as well as better-looking donor site areas, which creates improvements in more than one body area.
Results
Dr. Payne performs a comprehensive evaluation of each client and discusses each person’s potential treatment plan. He discusses the pros and cons of all relevant corrective options both surgical and non-surgical. Each client chooses the treatment that appeals to them, with the understanding that more options may be exercised in the future.
The overall goal of cosmetic surgery is to improve body aesthetics. Shape, contours, size and balance are important. A nice-looking buttock is highly complimentary to a woman's figure, and to a man's as well. Women's buttocks are often flat, too small, droopy, or simply not properly proportioned relative to nearby areas. Full, round, firm buttocks with good shape and projection can dramatically improve a woman's appearance in and out of clothes. Cellulite can often be improved with buttocks fat injection, offering another potential benefit to the procedure.
After the Surgery
Each client is given detailed postoperative instructions and appropriate medications. Dr. Payne usually calls each client the evening of surgery and again the morning after to review instructions and make sure the client is doing well and review instructions. Dr. Payne or one of his staff members can also be reached at any time through his office. Clients are seen one to two times per week for the first few weeks, and Dr. Payne follows all clients until they are fully healed.
Most clients can go back to work within one week of the treatment. Bruising and swelling lasts a few weeks. By four to six weeks the majority of clients are back to normal in terms of appearance and activity. Clients may resume light exercise within a few days of treatment and progress from there. Support garments are recommended for three to six weeks following surgery.
